Hi, I’m Mitch

I’m passionate about helping people figure out what’s holding them back and how to move forward with greater confidence and self-awareness. I especially love supporting people as they find ways to channel their creativity into healing.

Feeling anxious, fearful, stuck?

I know what it’s like (to feel anxious, fearful, and stuck). Even as a kid, I remember feeling that the world was a scary place. I let anxiety stop me from pursuing opportunities at school, from joining bands, and even from making music, my passion. From small daily tasks like making phone calls to big life changes like moving away from home, I would avoid taking chances and spreading my wings.

Beneath the fear, anxiety and depression I always knew there was a different version of myself. Through writing and playing music, going to therapy, and developing self-care practices that work for me, I learned ways to manage my anxiety and to live more freely as myself. Music and the creative arts helped me connect with other people and with parts of myself that I found difficult to talk about.

Eventually, instead of shrinking away from risks, I learned to embrace them.

I moved to another continent, pursued new challenges in my career, grew as a songwriter and performer, took to the stage, and opened myself to love in new ways. I became more honest with myself and with others and learned that I was far from alone in my struggles. I began to speak up more and give myself permission to make mistakes and to be vulnerable. This is an ongoing process full of ups and downs, but inching forward all the same.

When I realized there are so many other creatives who face similar struggles, I knew I wanted to build a therapy practice that puts their needs, talents, and potential at the heart of what I do.

I help creative people from all walks of life learn ways to guide themselves towards richer, more fulfilling, brighter futures full of challenge and growth.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re getting in your own way, I’m here to help. I can support you in your recovery from anxiety, self-doubt, and depression. The process of getting to know yourself better (and facing your shit) can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience where you channel hurtful, self-defeating beliefs into deeper self-awareness and, if you choose to, into creative expressions like music, art, writing, or comedy.

As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (and Board Certified Music Therapist,) I use practical tools and methods to help clients manage anxiety, depression, unwanted habits and addictions, and relationship issues. You will learn to identify, face, and overcome the fears and unhelpful beliefs that get in the way of expressing and being your best self.
